Welcome to the Challenger Series, folks!
It’s Oztag like you’ve never seen before, imagine your usual rep tournament rules, but with a twist of creative scoring and a cutting-edge fantasy football platform that is an absolute game changer!
Whether you’re just dipping your toes in to Oztag for the first time or a seasoned pro, dive into our official Challenger Series events lighting up Queensland! These unique events come with worldwide leaderboards and fantastic prizemoney & prizes for you and your team. Plus, they’re crucial fundraisers for Rugby League/Union clubs and schools. Fun, fame, and fundraising, its time to get amongst it.
All our events are organised into two divisions, each consisting of four teams for participants aged 15 and older. Teams will play each other twice to reveal the overall winner of the event. Sounds simple until you add in the creative scoring within the platform which in many cases will turn your normal results you may be used to on their head!
Check out these game changing points.
- Magic Minutes: more points if tries are scored during this time frame
- X-Challenges: snag these and get up to 25 extra bonus points
- Margin points: every try matters with points based on your win/loss margin
- Try origin points: where you scored from (3 zones), all different values
- Fantasy scoring areas: 5 scoring areas and 3 different sets of points to shake things up
- Power Rounds: These rounds apply margins based on the first 3 games that the teams who are 1st and 2nd must chase. If they do not get them the 3rd and 4th teams are awarded the margin points. No matter where you are on the leaderboard every game counts!
Oh! Just to top it off it’s not just about the final score, winning each half counts too!
Event Format
- 5 games per event, (3 round games + 2 power rounds) each lasting 20 minutes
- Events generally last around 3 hours, including breaks
- Minimum of 8, maximum of 12 players per team.
- Oztag Rep rules apply
- Event winners’ prizes and raffles
- Winning teams from each division go into a $3,000 winner’s cash prize draw every 2 months
- Teams finishing 1st or 2nd at an event are entered into a prize draw for custom Challenger Series shorts every two months.
- Teams finishing 3 & 4th go into a Chase the Margin draw in June & December.

What to do first
After you sign in these are the first things to do to personalise your profile
- Add your Profile pic
- Add your favourite playing number
- Add your Preferred Division & Position
If you’re ready to form a team and play in an event, navigate to the Create Team section. There, you can create your team name, upload your team logo, and start inviting players to join your team. Once you’ve completed this, dive in and register for an event to secure your place, as spots are limited!
